Is the outsourcing of jobs the solution to the illegal immigration problem?

Posted on 20 July 2010 by BPO

If there are no jobs in the US, Immigrants won’t come here looking for work. Also, if US residents don’t have money because they too don’t have jobs, they won’t hire Mexicans for cash to do menial tasks.

Why is outsourcing bad for america?

Posted on 17 July 2010 by BPO

I understand that is causes the loss of jobs, but are there other reasons it can be bad for the US and its economy, and how can outsourcing actually be bad for the companies and other aspects? I have read in many places that it can actually be good, by allowing businesses to grow and beat the competition of other countries, as well as it causes prices to be lower for the consumer.

Why should the government keep the sugar farmers in business?

There doesn’t seem to be a problem with importing factory goods from overseas that cause the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs, or restrictions on outsourcing various other jobs. I must admit ignorance on the Free Trade policy, are there special provisions for all agricultural goods? I am assuming the majority of the labor is low wage immigrant farmers, and the majority of the profit goes to farm owners or whatever corporations control the market.
What would be the economical impact of lifting sugar tarriffs? Who would benefit, and who would lose out?

Why is so much american law and policy today stacked to favor the rich and big business then anytime since?

Posted on 14 July 2010 by BPO

The Gilded age????

how can we go back to the policies of that served us so well in the period after world war 2 when the counrty was a great economic success and the american people thrived and we had quaint things like hiring americans and not outsourcing their jobs, or super high taxes on the wealthy and health care that was mostly nonprofit and affordable, and balanced budgets and strong investment in our infrastructure etc…..???

What are some good ways we can stop the outsourcing of American jobs overseas?

Posted on 30 June 2010 by BPO

I read a New York Times article today that even the newspaper industry (oh, the irony) is getting outsourced to places like Bangalore, India.

Frankly, I think it’s unfair. The Indians should be producing services for their OWN markets, instead of stealing American jobs!

What are some good policy ideas which will help slow these job losses to overseas competitors?

How is our economy going to get better when we keep losing jobs to outsourcing?

Posted on 27 June 2010 by BPO

By 2015, it is expected that nearly 4 million US jobs will have been outsourced to another country for cheaper labor. This is only going to keep the unemployment rate high. How will our country deal with this problem?
